Available in two sizes, the Molteni &C Phoenix sofa by Vincent Van Duysen has a minimal and contemporary style and is the result of a careful study of ergonomics to create a supremely comfortable garden sofa.
The seat, sofa back and sled base are made from a burnished aluminium band which is in one continuous stroke so that when seen from the side it appears slender and light, giving a sense of dynamism. The use of aluminium, which weighs significantly less than iron, allows for easy movement of generously sized garden furniture.
For added elegance the seat back and armrests feature a beautiful woven pattern in handmade polypropylene rope in a style reminiscent of the Mediterranean tradition of baskets and panniers. The rope can be selected in anthracite, olive green or desert yellow.
Comfortable cushions covers are available in several categories of fabric including the Musco collection developed in collaboration with Limonta Spa and selected by Marta Ferri. Musco offers seven different monochrome or striped jacquard and bouclé yarns inspired by shades of nature which can be combined to match or contrast each other. You can also provide your own fabric subject to approval by Molteni.
Each sofa comes with two seat cushions as standard, however for correct ergonomics Molteni also suggest that you add two seat back cushions to this sofa - see drop down menu.
The Phoenix garden range which also includes two chairs and coffee tables is part of the wider Molteni & C Timeout collection in which metal is the predominant material used but softened by the use of intertwined ropes for the backrests weaving a story where "timeout" becomes a well-deserved reconciliation break with outdoor spaces.
